Hana Tsai, born in New York City in 2008, developed her love for classical music at a young age, choosing to start and end her day by listening to Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. At the age of four, she began her violin studies at the Diller-Quaile School of Music, and she currently attends the Juilliard Pre-College Program under the guidance of Elizabeth Chang. Hana has earned top awards in various competitions, including the NY State MTNA, the International Grand Music Competition, Vivo International Competition, New York Concert Festival International Competition, and Prima Volta Competitions. She also enjoys attending both traditional and modern classical music concerts in NYC.

Hana finds that modern classical music appeals to her in various ways. She appreciates the unfamiliar experiences it offers, including the boundless harmony, diverse sound textures, and the creation of new rules. However, as she listens and plays, she finds herself with many unanswered questions about modern music. While living through this era, she acknowledges that her understanding of modern music has its limitations. Therefore, she believes that actively getting involved in its ongoing evolution is the most effective way to understand, engage with, and appreciate modern classical music.
